COACHING FOR PEOPLE WHO DO IT THEIR OWN WAY

with Varvara Sharova

Figuring out your own path is harder than following someone else's. Coaching is how you do it without losing your way. Regular one-on-one sessions, focused on what's actually in front of you.

DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR TO YOU?

01

You know something needs to change. You've known for a while. You're still in the same place.

02

You have ideas, energy, and good intentions. Somehow nothing moves forward.

03

You're scared of making the wrong call, so you keep not making any call at all.

04

There's no one around you who actually gets what you're going through.

05

You can see where you want to be. You just can't figure out how to get there.

06

You've gone so long without deciding anything that it's become a way of life.

WHAT IS COACHING?

Not therapy. Not advice. Not a mentor telling you what to do.

Coaching is a conversation with a structure. You bring what's real: a decision, a pattern, a goal you keep not reaching. We work on it together. I don't have your answers. But I know how to ask the questions that get you there.

Talk to a friend and they'll nod. Here it's different: there's a goal, a structure, and actions you commit to. We start the next session with what came of them.

What people bring:

  • "Do I stay where things are fine, or take the risk?"
  • "I moved a year ago and I still don't know what I want here."
  • "Everything looks fine, and it still feels like I'm living someone else's life."

You leave each session with a clearer head, a concrete next step, and a plan you actually believe in.

"It works when you're ready to actually do something about it."

What we actually do in sessions:

  • Figure out what's really going on, not just the surface problem
  • Work through what's stopping you from moving forward
  • Build your own system — without checking it against how it's "supposed" to look

THIS IS NOT

Therapy, medical advice, crisis intervention, or a "magic pill" for success without effort.

Who
it's for.

The thinkers, the makers, the restless.

Ready for Change

  • You've already decided somewhere inside. What's left is doing it
  • You're about to quit, switch fields, or start your own thing — and you want ground under you, not guesswork
  • You don't need convincing. You need help breaking it into steps

Moved to Another Country

  • Your experience stayed behind in the old country, and here you're building it back from scratch
  • You're between the job that's beneath you and the one you can't reach yet
  • You still haven't worked out what the move actually was for you — or what to do about it

Why coaching.

I like listening to people — their stories, what's actually going on for them. I think analytically, but I haven't switched off how I feel.

Setting goals and finding my way to them has always come fairly naturally to me. I want to pass that on — not with ready-made answers, but with questions that help you see your own path.

I'm convinced the systems we live in box people into shapes that don't fit most of us. Being genuinely happy starts with stepping outside those boxes and letting yourself be who you are.

That's what coaching is to me. Not advice, not "do it like I did" — it's about helping you hear yourself and find your own way.

My path.

  • Left Russia alone at 16 for an exchange year — lived with a German family. That's where the languages came from
  • Finished the HSE Lyceum in Moscow, humanities track. Tech wasn't on my radar at all
  • Moved to Germany for good five years ago
  • Went into business and tech anyway. Didn't see it coming myself

Now:

  • At TUM: bachelor's done, master's in progress
  • Training as a coach in a program accredited at Level 2 by the ICF (International Coaching Federation, the main global body for coaches)
  • Working a job I actually like through SAP STAR, a rotational program SAP runs for students
  • Living in Munich, biking everywhere, with friends and close people who value me

Ups and downs getting here. I like my life.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
01

INTRO CALL / 15–20 min

We meet, compare notes on what you're working on, and see if we're a good fit.

02

DISCOVERY SESSION / 1 hour

We go deep on your situation, agree on a clear goal for our work together.

03

REGULAR SESSIONS / 50 min

Each session moves you one concrete step closer to your goal.

BETWEEN SESSIONS

You try things, get them wrong, notice what happened — and bring that to the next session.

04

CLOSING SESSION / 30 min

We check back against where you started, name what actually changed, and close the work properly instead of just stopping.

FAQ

Everything you need to know before we start.

Coaching isn't the right fit if you're in acute mental health crisis. A therapist is the right person then. It also won't work if you're looking for someone to tell you what to do. Coaching works when you're ready to take responsibility and act.

Depends on your goal. Specific questions get resolved in 3–4 sessions. Bigger shifts, like career, direction, or confidence, usually take 6–10. Within pro bono we'll scope a goal that fits six, including a short closing session at the end. We'll figure it out together after the intro call.

Most people notice a shift after the first 1–2 sessions: more clarity, less noise in their head. Bigger changes show up over 4–8 sessions, depending on how actively you work between them.

English or Russian, your choice. Both feel equally natural to me.

Until I complete the supervised coaching hours my training requires. After that, I move to paid sessions. Waitlist members hear first.

Real coaching. ICF standards, confidential within the ICF Code of Ethics, supervised. The only difference from paid is the price. Zero while I build the supervised hours my training requires. You get the same sessions. I get the hours I need. Fair exchange.

My ICF Level 2 training requires a minimum number of supervised hours with real clients. Pro bono coaching is a standard part of coach training worldwide. Not charity, not a discount. A deliberate trade.
